Civil Ceremonies

Make it official at Mercure Newcastle George Washington Hotel Golf & Spa. With 3 uniquely beautiful licensed spaces, say ‘I do’ in the luxury surroundings of our hotel, surrounded by your closest companions.

Our tailor-made packages incur a charge of £500.00 to hold a civil ceremony at the hotel. Registrar fees are not included in the wedding package. You can book your own registrar directly with Sunderland Registry Office, which can be done by telephone or online.

Our Spaces

Located amongst 200 acres of gorgeous greenery, our wedding spaces are perfect for special celebrations of all kinds. Three of our spaces are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies: the Washington Suite, the Clinton Suite and the Orangery, and all are exclusively yours for the duration of your day.
