Opened in 1975 as a premier leisure and golf complex, the Mercure Newcastle George Washington Hotel Golf & Spa became Mercure’s 32nd UK property in 2009.
The hotel’s name derives from the nearby historic Washington family ancestral home, dating back to the 12th century.
